Steps

- Click 'Storage Sense' again to open its schedule — daily if your drive fills fast, weekly or monthly if it doesn't

- Enable 'Delete files in my recycle bin if they have been there for over 30 days' and 'Delete files in my Downloads folder if they haven't been opened for over 30 days' — the Downloads rule is the one people forget exists, and it usually recovers the most space

- If you use OneDrive, turn on 'Locally available cloud content' cleanup too — it frees space by making rarely-used cloud files online-only instead of keeping a permanent local copy

- Storage Sense only touches what it's told to — it won't clean app data or games, so pair it with an occasional manual pass

How to verify the fix

Storage Sense runs on its schedule and temp files, Recycle Bin and Downloads clutter are removed automatically over time.

If this didn't fix it

The drive fills up again quickly — Storage Sense isn't covering the real space hogs; check large folders manually.
